Tampa Garage Door Repair Company Donates 15% Of Sales To Breast Cancer Research
Tampa, Florida (PRWEB) December 17, 2011
Tampa Garage Door Repair Company Tony D’s Garage Door Repair & Sales, recently supported breast cancer research by donating 15% of the company’s sales during the month of October to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
October was breast cancer awareness month and Scott Perry, owner of a Tampa Garage Door Repair company in Florida, was looking for a way to help raise awareness as well as funds for the cause. “I think most of us know someone that has been affected by this terrible disease. It is our corporate responsibility as well as individual citizens, to give back.” Perry said.
The company also replaced their typical trademark uniform shirts and donned pink ones during the month of October. “Continuous research for a cure is vital. We can only hope and pray that soon they will find one, but that won’t happen without financial support.”
Although great strides have taken place in the treatment of the disease, early detection is critical. Routine self examination and mammograms are essential for women along with a healthy lifestyle including diet and exercise, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s website. The site also points out that other than skin cancer, women in the United States are diagnosed with breast cancer more than any other cancer.
Another surprising fact was that an average of 1,700 men are also diagnosed with the disease each year. The website also contains information on how to perform self exams, signs and symptoms, and common risk factors.
Tony D’s has been providing Garage Door Repair Brandon and Tampa, Florida services for over 43 years. They also serve Hillsborough, Polk and Pinellas counties.
